Kerry County Council is in a position to reduce property tax rates by 4.2 per cent. In a statement released by the Department of the Environment, Kerry was among 12 local authorities which have a financial surplus. The total provisional local property tax funding to be provided next year in this county is 11. 66 million euro. Of this amount raised in property tax, 80% can be retained locally by the council to spend on services here.
