Kerry County Council adopts Climate Adaptation Strategy

Kerry county councillors have adopted a Climate Adaptation Strategy.

Under the National Adaptation Framework, each local authority had to adopt a climate strategy before the end of September.

Climate adaptation relates to addressing the impacts of climate change, and the council’s strategy aims to incorporate this into all plans, programmes, strategies, and policies of the council.

It identifies the risks to the council posed by recent climate events and sets out a number of objectives and actions.
