A Kerry councillor says lessons must be learned after an alleged child abduction attempt.
It’s being claimed two men wearing balaclavas and driving a black Volkswagen Golf approached a young boy, who was playing in Scartaglin GAA grounds, on Saturday afternoon.
The boy, who was uninjured, managed to get away and raise the alarm.
Gardaí are aware of the incident and are investigating.
Councillor Bobby O’Connell says the alleged abduction attempt has reminded parents of possible threats, and he believes every community in the county can benefit from increased awareness.
The Fine Gael councillor is praising the proactive approach by the community and the Scartaglin GAA club.
