Kerry Councillor says homes in constant danger of being flooded in Cromane

A Kerry Councillor says homes are in constant danger of being flooded in Cromane.

Councillor Michael Cahill has asked Kerry County Council to write to the Minister for the OPW, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran, in an effort to secure funding for coastal protection works in Cromane.

He says families in the area are living in fear and cannot afford to wait any longer for the proposed survey of Castlemaine Harbour to be carried out.

In response, Kerry County Council says funding has been provided for the study to be carried out, and it’s intended to advertise for consultants in the coming weeks.
