A Kerry councillor is calling for a respite centre in Mid Kerry.
Sinn Féin councillor Damian Quigg says families of people with special needs in the area are calling for a respite facility in Mid Kerry.
Currently, families have to travel to Kilmorna in Listowel, which is an 80-kilometre round trip from Killorglin and has just 4 beds.
Families in Mid Kerry say it isn’t practical.
Cllr Quigg and those families are to meet with the HSE to highlight the issue are outline the need for such care in the area.
