University Hospital Kerry could be downgraded.
That’s according to Sinn Féin councillor Toiréasa Ferris, who says delays to certain procedures in the hospital causes her to believe the hospital will be downgraded.
Councillor Ferris says appointments had been made for many women to undergo fluoroscopies; however, they’ve been told specialist equipment is broken, which has pushed all appointments back by nine months.
A fluoroscopy is an imaging technique which can be used evaluate bones, muscles and organs.
She says this issue, along with other scandals at the hospital, indicate to her the hospital may be downgraded, leading to a loss of services in Kerry.
