A Kerry company says over 100 jobs will be created following the awarding of an ESB Networks’ contract.
Yesterday, it was announced that the Kerry company TLI secured a national contract for the installation of ESB Networks’ national smart metering programme.
Abbeydorney-based TLI constructs and maintains power lines and windfarms for a number national and international clients.
It employs approximately 400 staff here and in the UK.
The company won a contract to carry out installations on ESB Networks’ smart metering programme, with works to begin in the autumn.
The programme aims to allow customers to shift consumption to times when electricity is cheaper.
TLI has since confirmed over 100 jobs will be created following their successful tender.
Fianna Fáil TD for Kerry John Brassil says it’s great news for the entire county.
