Kerry Civil Defence is hosting a major regional exercise in Tralee today for Civil Defence teams from Cork and Limerick.
The event is taking place under the direction of Tom Brosnan of Kerry Civil Defence and involves a number of simulated emergency scenarios at locations around Tralee.
Taking part are Cork North Civil Defence, Cork South Civil Defence, Cork West Civil Defence and Limerick Civil Defence.
Kerry Civil Defence is also hosting a dinner for the participants at the Manor West Hotel this evening attended by Director General of the Civil Defence Stephen Hall, Secretary General of the Department of Defence Robert Mooney and Director of Services with Kerry County Council John Breen.
Tom Brosnan of Kerry Civil Defence said today’s exercise is a great opportunity for members to engage in training for emergency situations in which they might potentially be involved.
