The Charities Regulatory Authority says it is satisfied that a Kerry-based animal charity has resolved issues it flagged.
The body sanctioned Animal Heaven Animal Rescue (AHAR) for non-compliance with regulations by contravening aspects of the Charities Act 2009.
In January, The Charities Regulatory Authority identified a number of issues regarding governance and financial management at AHAR, specifically the failure to maintain proper books of account.
In a statement from the body today it says it is satisfied that AHAR has met the requirements of the notice issued.
The Authority said AHAR has rectified the contravention of the Charities Act within the specified timeframe and implemented the required measures.
This includes assigning the responsibility of keeping proper books of account to a person or persons with appropriate skills and experience and introducing periodic financial reporting.
On the charity’s Facebook page Chairperson of AHAR Christine Zimmerman said they welcomed the news.
