A Kerry businessman is calling for tax reform to save the struggling retail sector.

Tim Kelliher of Kelliher’s Toyota Tralee was speaking in the wake of Budget 2020.

He believes the government needs to prioritise conventional shops with physical buildings over online businesses.

He says bricks and mortar shops contribute to their local economy and the exchequer on a much higher level than online ones; adding it’s not just a local issue but an international one.
