Kerry authorities allocated €14.4m for regional and local roads

The four local authorities in Kerry have been allocated over €14 million in funding for investment in local and regional roads this year. Roadworks signTransport minister Leo Varadkar made the announcement which will see €12.7 million allocated to Kerry County Council for 2014. Tralee Town Council has been allocated €339,000 while Killarney and Listowel Town Councils have received €161,000 each. The funding will be used for repairs on local and regional roads, bridge upgrading and pedestrian crossings. The announcement has been welcomed by Minister Jimmy Deenihan, Senator Marie Moloney and Deputies Brendan Griffin Tom Fleming and Michael Healy-Rae.
