Kells Quarry Products awaits planning permission for extension

An extension to a South Kerry quarry could be on the way subject to planning permission. Kells Quarry Products has applied to Kerry County Council to develop a 70 acre rock quarry at cnoc-eee-o-loo on the south eastern slopes of Mount Foley. The application seeks permission to carry out blasting, extraction, crushing, screening and washing of stone and the removal of stone off site. It also includes plans to realign the N70 Carraigeway at O Connell`s Bridge which includes widening the bridge.
