KDYS disagrees with removal of youth programmes

The Kerry Diocesan Youth Service says it doesn`t see any justification for the removal of four youth reach programmes from them. The Kerry Education Service wants to pull the 1.25 million euro courses from the KDYS and take over control of the employment aspect of the courses and handle the funding themselves. The KDYS says the removal of the courses would have a major impact on them. Father Ger Godley says the Department of Education has endorsed their implementation of the programmes. He says he fails to see why the kes want to withdraw them.
