A senior engineer with Kerry County Council says it’s received complaints about new road markings on one of the county’s main roads.
Sections of the N70 Killorglin- Cahersiveen- Kenmare road are being realigned with new markings to comply with national design standards set down by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
However, senior engineer, David Doyle, says the council has received complaints about some of these new markings.
Mr Doyle says Kerry County Council’s new road safety plan hopes to address driver behaviour.
The local authority, along with the Road Safety Authority and gardaí, have also set targets to improve road standards as part of the strategy.
David Doyle says figures from the RSA, based on fatal and non-fatal crashes, show that some people are still not wearing seat belts.
