Kerry County Council will continue to progress four greenway projects in the county in 2017.
These include developments in south Kerry, Listowel, Tralee and Killarney.
Kerry County Council says priority will be given to the South Kerry Greenway from Glenbeigh to Renard, the Lough Leane Loop in Killarney and the Listowel section of the Great Southern Trail.
The design of the Tralee to Fenit Greenway will progress as resources permit including seeking a resolution with affected landowners.
Documentation relating to the Compulsory Purchase Order of land and planning application for the South Kerry Greenway will be lodged with An Bord Pleanala early in the new year.
Kerry County Council is in discussion with the Department of Transport in relation to future funding proposals for the project.
The council says it will continue to engage in a meaningful way with all landowners and stakeholders adding it remains fully committed to this project given its enormous economic and tourism potential for the region.
