Judge Curtin to appeal recent High Court decision

Judge Brian Curtin`s legal team is to appeal a recent High Court decision to the Supreme Court. At the beginning of this month Judge Curtin lost a High Court challenge to the committee and procedures established by the Oireachtas to investigate his case. Earlier this year Judge Brian Curtin`s legal team began high court proceedings against the Oireactas committee. They claimed the mechanism being used by the Dail and seanad to investigate his alleged misbehaviour was unlawful and unconstitutional . In the High Court Mr Justice Thomas Smyth took almost five hours to deliver judgement in the case and Judge Curtin failed on all grounds submitted to the court. Radio Kerry News has now learnt from a reliable source that Judge Curtin will appeal the High Court decision. Last year Judge Curtin was acquitted in Tralee Circuit Court of possessing child pornography.
