Jeanie to take part in Whitehaven Matitime Festival

The ill-fated Jeanie Johnston is to take part in the Whitehaven Maritime Festival in the UK at the end of this month. The ship will arrive in Whitehaven on the west coast of Cumbria on June 24th amid the controversy surrounding its sale to the Dublin Docklands Development Authority for 2.7 million euro.The famine replica ship, which was built in Blennerville, will be one of four tall vessels to take part in Whitehaven. The deputy chairman of the festival, Gerard Richardson, is aware of the ongoing saga concerning the Jeanie Johnston.
