Irish Water has completed a €100,000 project in Killorglin, replacing 400 metres of old water mains.
The works, along the N72 near the former Liebig factory, will result in a much-improved water supply for people living in the area.
The age and poor condition of the previous mains had resulted in frequent bursts, leading to poor water pressure and supply disruptions for customers.
The work got underway last Monday and was completed on schedule by Friday.
These works bring to almost €4 million the amount of money invested by Irish Water to replace aging water mains in the Mid-Kerry area.
Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae has welcomed the announcement.
