Irish Motor Industry claims Tesco’s petrol prices are unsustainable.

Large chain supermarket Tosco is ruining small businesses in Killarney according to Cyril Mc Hugh of the Society of Irish Motor Industry. The sale of petrol at the chain store is below market prices and competition at this level is unsustainable for other businesses in the county. He claims 5 petrol stations in killarney have closed since Tesco opened a year ago in the town. Mr McHugh says other business will also face closure around the county if Tesco is allowed to cross subsidise its prices.
