Irish Examiner apologises for error in Kerry District Court case

The Irish Examiner newspaper has published a front page apology for an error in a report from a Kerry District Court sitting earlier this month. In the report, carried in the paper on June 4th, it was incorrectly stated that a person accused of a number of charges of sexual assault on minors had pleaded guilty to the charges. The accused had in fact pleaded not guilty. Representatives of the paper apologised in Court yesterday for the error, which they said was not the fault of the journalist involved but had occurred after the article had been submitted to the paper.
