IRFU Make Several Changes To Managerial Set-Up At Elite Level In Women’s Game

IRFU Crest It’s being reported that the IRFU have made several changes to the managerial set up at the elite level in the women’s game. According to the website Ireland’s Sevens coach Jon Skurr is leaving. Players were informed this week after a review by the Union that new positions will be required in order to meet “the desired level of performance”. Head of Fitness Ross Callaghan is also leaving with a series of appointments to be made in a number of new fulltime roles – alongside a new structure for its newly initiated men’s sevens programme A Director of Sevens and Women’s Rugby will be appointed, while at the same time a full time Assistant Women’s Sevens coach will also be appointed, with that person, it is understood, also taking on the role of Head Coach of the Women’s XV team. Former senior coach Philip Doyle has yet to be replaced since stepping down after the World cup.
