Ireland’s top ice swimmer warning Kerry beachgoers of dangers of consuming alcohol while swimming

Ireland’s number one ice swimmer is warning beachgoers of the dangers of consuming alcohol while swimming this weekend.

Nuala Moore, who competes internationally in ice swimming, was speaking after seeing a number of youths swimming after consuming alcohol at a West Kerry beach in recent days.

The Dingle native was the first swimmer in history to swim the maritime boundary between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and the first woman ever to swim down at the Cape Horn.

With air temperatures to exceed 20 degrees, it’s expected people will be flocking to Kerry beaches over the Easter weekend.

Via Twitter, Nuala warned beachgoers of the potential dangers.
