Ireland’s Ladies Rule OK

Ireland, lead by their captain Kerry’s Sarah O’Connor, blew away the challenge of Australia in the first of a two Test series yesterday in Breffni Park, Cavan by 130 points to 15.The result was never in doubt and Ireland lead at the end of the first quarter by 34-12 and allowed the Aussies only three more points for the rest of the game.The Irish skipper Sarah O’Connor was surprised at how bad the visitors were. She said the Irish team have gone as far as to offer the tourists a chance to use the oval ball for the Secong Test but they have declined the offer.
