Ireland South M.E.P. Sean Kelly says the time is ripe for the upgrade of our southern ports to accommodate larger vessels.
Mr. Kelly says the Irish Government could access E.U. funding for this purpose under the TEN-T or Invest EU programmes.
This call comes in the wake of Dublin Port’s decision to turn away large cruise ships due to space restrictions.
The Ireland South M.E.P. says the Dublin decision is a slap in the face to the tourism industry across the country:
