Ireland South MEP calling on European Commission to abolish clock change

Ahead of the clocks going forward an hour at 1am tonight, a Kerry MEP has called on the European Commission to bring forward proposals to abolish the practice.

Kilcummin native Seán Kelly is Ireland’s only member of a group of MEPs campaigning for the bi-annual clock change and has voiced concerns for public health.

He said recently there has been an increase in calls from citizens for an overhaul in this regard.

The Ireland South MEP is calling on the European Commission to bring forward proposals to abolish the clock change.
