Ireland Down 3 Places In FIFA World Rankings

FAI_CrestIreland have dropped 3 places to 64th in the latest FIFA world rankings released today. World champions and our Euro 2016 qualifier opponents Germany remain top while Argentina are second. Meanwhile, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is relaxed about his future at the club – even though he’s yet to agree a new contract. His current deal expires at the end of the season. The Daily Star reported this week that the club is considering letting Allardyce go – even though his side are having an impressive campaign and sit fourth in the Premier League. The West Ham boss says he’ll sit down with the co-owners when everyone’s ready. Scotland international Steven Naismith has signed a three-year contract extension with Everton. The new deal will keep the forward at Goodison Park until at least the summer of 2019. Naismith joined the club in 2012 after leaving Rangers. Everton manager Roberto Martinez says an ankle injury suffered by Kevin Mirallas isn’t as bad as they feared it would be. The Belgian international was brought off on a stretcher late on in Monday’s Premier League win over QPR. Martinez expects Mirallas to be back fairly soon.
