Ireland Defeat Zimbabwe

Ireland have claimed a consolation victory in the last of their three one-day internationals against Zimbabwe. Andy McBrine scored the winning runs as Ireland survived a nervy finish to beat their hosts by 2 wickets with 19 balls to spare. After Tim Murtagh’s four-wicket haul this morning had helped set Ireland a target of 188 to win, the visitors produced runs all the way through the order to pass that target with something to spare. It means that Ireland have lost the three-match series by two games to one.
