Investigations ongoing into alleged blocking of road in south Kerry

Investigations are ongoing into the case of a Tipperary man charged in connection with an alleged incident on a road in south Kerry. Killarney District Court The incident is alleged to have taken place at a road in the Kells area during the weekend of the Rally of the Lakes in Killarney. Jimmy Fogarty of Horse and Jockey, Thurles, Co Tipperary is charged in connection with an incident where a road at Gleesk, Kells, Caherciveen was allegedly blocked off for two hours in the early hours of May 3rd. The 20 year old faces charges including dangerous driving, using threatening and abusive language and parking a vehicle in such a manner as to cause danger to other persons. Previously the court was told that the N70 had been blocked for a two hour period in order to create an arena for a group of motorists and their cars. Solicitor Pádraig O’Connell told a special sitting that his client had not blocked the road. Mr Fogarty appeared again in Killarney District Court today where Inspector John Brennan said further investigations into the case are ongoing. Judge James O’Connor remanded the accused on continuing bail and adjourned the case to July 21st.
