Athlone Town have called for further investigations to be launched into allegations of match-fixing at the club.
They released a statement last night ahead of an FAI investigation into the matter which gets underway today.
A UEFA report presented to the FAI last week found a number of betting irregularities in Athlone’s 1st Division tie with Longford, and now two further games have also come under scrutiny.
The board of Athlone Town say they want the Gardai, Europol, Interpol and UEFA itself to open their own investigations in parallel with that of the FAI.
The association will begin interviewing players, coaches and officials from today.
