The inquest into the death of Anthony O’Mahony of Ardoughter, Ballyduff opened this week. 73 –year-old Mr O’Mahony was killed on April 4, 2007. In October 2018, a jury at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Tralee found Michael Ferris at Rattoo, Ballyduff not guilty of murder – but guilty of Mr O’Mahony’s manslaughter. During the trial, the jury heard that Mr Ferris had killed Mr O’Mahony in a row about a crowbanger. The fatal confrontation followed a bitter dispute over the noise created by a crowbanger on Mr O'Mahony's land.
