Further information is being sought on plans for the expansion of an American University’s presence in west Kerry.
The planning application relates to a protected structure in Dingle.
At the start of this year, Sacred Heart University announced it had purchased the old CBS building on The Mall and John Street and had major plans to develop the site.
The growth of the Connecticut university, which has been sending students to Dingle for 15 years, could generate up to a million euro annually for the local economy.
This year over 300 students from the university will study in west Kerry.
Last month, a planning application was lodged with Kerry County Council for the development of the old CBS building, which is a protected structure.
This includes demolition works and the construction of a two-storey extension.
Planners have now sought further information on the proposed development before making their decision.
