Information session on use of defibrillators to be held in Killarney

An information session is to be held in Killarney to inform people on how to use defibrillators. Health experts say greater availability and use of defibrillators will help reduce the rates of sudden cardiac death in Ireland. It’s estimated around 18 fatalities a day are sudden cardiac deaths. Sudden cardiac death has hit the headlines in recent years due to the sudden deaths of young sportsmen including Tyrone football Captain Cormac Macanallen. Peter Curley is the chief ambulance officer with HSE.
