Industrial action at Shannon Development can’t be ruled out

The threat of industrial action by employees at Shannon Development cannot be ruled out, according a Siptu branch secretary in Shannon. Union officials are meeting with Enterprise Minister Michael Martin today to discuss the future of Shannon Development. The role of the company is to be scaled down by the Government and Siptu is concerned this may lead to job losses, which could effect North Kerry. Tony Kenny says they are hopeful they will get a definition of the mandate.
