Increase in property crime in Kerry in 2017

The number of property crimes in Kerry increased last year.

According to figures from the Kerry Division of An Garda Siochana, there were 1,192 crimes committed against properties in 2017, representing an increase of 16% countywide.

Tralee had the lowest percentage rise with 7%, while Killarney experienced an increase of 27%, and Listowel had highest increase with 38%.

Chief Superintendent of the Kerry Division, Tom Myers, says while property crime is up, it’s been relatively stable over the past three years.
