Increase in call-outs in 2018 for Kerry Fire Service

Kerry Fire Service experienced an increase in call-outs in 2018 compared to 2017.

They attended over 940 call-outs this year, compared to 870 in the previous year.

During 2018, there was an increase in the number of chimney fires and gorse fires.

Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer in Kerry Maurice O’Connell attributes the increase in gorse fires to the warm, dry weather during the summer.
