The President of the Irish Farmers’ Association says they will fight the Compulsory Purchase Order for the South Kerry Greenway all the way.
Joe Healy was speaking following the publication of the CPO for the 32-kilometre greenway project from Renard to Glenbeigh.
Kerry County Council says it had to use CPO to acquire the lands needed for the scheme after negotiations over many years failed to secure agreement from all landowners.
Mr Healy says the IFA is in favour of greenways but is absolutely anti-CPO.
