IFA calls for ban on imports of Brazillian beef to the EU

The IFA is demanding a ban on imports of Brazilian beef into the EU. The association’s President John Dillon says the most serious risk from the meat is its unknown origin and lack of traceability. The issue has caused a row between the IFA in Kerry and the Kerry branch of the Irish Hotels Federation, the IHF says it`s not their responsibility to label the beef that is on their restaurant menus. The US, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and south Korea have all banned imports of Brazilian beef for health reasons.
