ICA celebrates 50 years in Kerry.

The ICA is celebrating 50 years in Kerry this weekend. The organisation has hundreds of members across Kerry and is holding a dinner dance on Saturday night as part of the celebrations. Former Dail Deputy Kitt Ahearn is one of the founding members of Kerry ICA, she says in the beginning one of their first tasks was to persuade people to install electricity. She says they specifically targeted women by showing them of all the modern conveniences they could have such as washing machines and electric kettles.
