Iarnrod Eireann to provide wheelchair accessible train from Kerry

Iarnrod Eireann are to provide a new wheelchair accessible train for its customers departing from Kerry. The service will begin next Tuesday from Killarney to Mallow. Iarnrod Eireann is admitting that their service has not been up to standard in the past for its disabled customers, but that all of the equipment purchased since 1994 is now wheelchair accessible.The company was responding to complaints by Labour Councillor Terry O Brien. Spokesman for Iarnrod Eireann Andrew Roche says they are commited to providing an equitable service to disabled passengers.
