Killarney’s Ian O’Connell has presented a cheque for €19,366 to University Hospital Kerry’s Intensive Care Unit.

In 2017, when he was aged 16, Ian became paralysed from the neck down after falling off his bike in Killarney National Park.

He has needed much medical care since, including at UHK, and fundraised the money for the Intensive Care Unit, as he said the staff there saved his life on two occasions.
