Hydrangeas stolen from Glenbeigh flower beds

Volunteers in South Kerry have been left outraged after vandals targeted flower beds in their village.

Glenbeigh Community Council says around 17 hydrangeas, which had been specially planted as part of a project to enhance the entrances to the village, were dug up with a spade over the weekend.

The council says the thefts have been reported to Gardaí.
