Hundreds attend public meeting in support of Inch golf course.

A group of locals in Inch are to write to the Minister for the Environment asking for his position on the proposal to build a golf course in the area. Hundreds of people from the area turned up at a public meeting last night in support of the golf course proposal. They are also to write to the promoters of the development, the Kennedy`s and the designer Arthur Spring seeking their views.The need for facilities for tourists in the area was highlighted at the meeting and a committee has been formed with a view to driving the proposal to build the golf course forward. According to Dora Mc Carthy their first aim is to meet with both sides and get a clear picture of the issues. She says they are also to meet with Tourism Minister John O Donohue tomorrow.
