HSE stresses importance of inter denominational Chapel at Kerry General

The Health Service Executive says that there are no plans to reinstall the statues removed from the Chapel at Kerry General Hospital. The statues were removed whilst refurbishment works were being carried out in the hospital Chapel. A new stained glass window has been installed depicting the history of salvation in accordance with the teaching of the Second Vatican Council of The Church.Instead of the statues, images of Our Lord and Our Lady in the new stained glass window were specifically chosen. The Health Board Executive stressed the importance that the Chapel at the hospital is an inter denominational Chapel. The renovation works included the Chapel walls and ceiling being painted, the lights and carpet being replaced and some work carried out on the alter.
