The HSE is to examine exercise classes run by a 79-year-old Waterville fitness instructor.

It’s after the remarkable recovery of a 36-year-old man who began attending Eric Murphy’s classes when he was diagnosed with a form of arthritis.

Michael Golden was on injections for the autoimmune disease; his GP recommended he try Eric’s classes, and now he no longer has to take the medication.

He says his consultant in Cork has noticed the massive improvement and is going to look at Eric’s classes:
