HSE confirms TB screening in Ballyduff after active case identified

The HSE has confirmed that people in Ballyduff have been screened for TB after one active case was notified to the Department of Public Health in recent months.

The health service says there’s been no outbreak of the infectious lung disease, Tuberculosis in the North Kerry village.

National and international guidelines dictate that screening takes place following notification of an active case of TB, and the HSE says that screening was held in the local community hall recently.

No new case of TB was identified from that clinic.
