Householders warn council not to privatize bin collection.

Householders in Tralee are warning the town council not to privatize their waste collection service. According to Catherine Dolan who has campaigned against rising bin charges – people with a waiver need to be looked after. She says if the council provides a competitive service householders in the town will support them.The council meets on Tuesday morning to discuss service charges for next year. It`s understood they are coming under considerable pressure to privatize the entire refuse collection service because of the increasing cost involved. Catherine Dolan says she would like to see the council collection continue but says it needs to be more competitively priced.
