Hosepipe ban lifted in Kerry

Irish Water has lifted its hosepipe ban in Kerry and several other counties.

It’s after the board met today to assess the need to extend the Water Conservation Orders, which were due to expire this Sunday.

They were put in place for homes and businesses during the summer to safeguard drinking water supplies.

Irish Water say increased rainfall has meant the Water Conservation Orders can now be lifted, but say it’s essential people continue to conserve water as supplies remain lower than normal.
