It’s hoped road improvement works will commence on a national secondary route in Killorglin in the new year.
Councillor Michael Cahill brought a motion to the recently monthly meeting of the South and West Kerry Municipal District, asking for an update on the realignment and upgrading of the road from Astellas on the Tralee Road to Killorglin Church.
In response, Kerry County Council says it’s proposed the overall scheme will proceed to tender by the end of the year, with works commencing in the first quarter of 2018.
Considering the scale of the works, it’s envisioned the works will be completed in stages throughout 2018, with no works taking place during July and August.
The scheme has a working cost estimate of €1.5 million.
