Historic tablecloth to be presented to Derrynane House

A tablecloth dating back to the time of the Liberator, Daniel O’Connell has been presented to Derrynane House in South Kerry. It was made in Bainbridge, Co Down during the 1840’s for a Repeal Meeting and since then it has travelled half way across the world to the United States, Canada and Australia. The Curator of Derrynane House, Evelyn Breen, said she did not see the tablecloth until today and there are now plans to put it on display.
