Heightened security planned for Fianna Fail Ard Fheis

A heightened level of security is to be implemented at this weekends Fianna Fail Ard Fheis to be held in Killarney in a bid to counteract voting fraud by party members. Measures include videotaping of delegates, proof of membership of their Cumann as well as valid photo identification.It`s understood the decision was taken by party headquarters after an email was sent directly to the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern which included details of two senior party officials who benefited from the fraud. This week will also see the National Executive rise to 20, delegates will elect 20 members instead of 15, 10 of whom must be women.
